No love for the katooms???

C'mon Shaggy we need some love for KTM's in this place!!!

SBA800 04-23-2012 12:21 PM

agreed! ill tell Birdman to get on that!
I love the KTM's!

aarons419 12-06-2012 07:33 PM

I love me some KTM bikes. I like that they're still supporting two strokes.

Went to my local dealer today and got a look at the 300xc and the 250sx which are two bikes I'm seriously considering later this coming year.

SBA800 12-06-2012 11:10 PM

I love me some 2 smoke.
but you cant deny the reliability of a 4 stroke

i want a polaris outlaw 525. which uses the KTM engine.

aarons419 12-07-2012 12:00 AM

What I love about the smokers is that they're so easy to work on. Anymore the 4 stroke moto bikes are as complicated as cars.

nosbusa 12-07-2012 01:32 AM

um, a two stroke here in ca...... good luck

aarons419 12-07-2012 06:50 AM

Yeah, none of that evil mess in the People's Republic of Kalifornia.

Not a problem at all in the free states though.

nosbusa 12-07-2012 11:54 AM

those 2strokes got a shitload of torque too. my nephews 125 track bike will leave you standing there

aarons419 12-08-2012 12:41 AM

Yeah they're a lot of fun. A long time ago my buddy and I were riding at a moto track and I had my old YZ426 and he had a YZ250 2-stroke. I think I might have been faster on my 426, but damned if I didn't have a ton of fun and feel like i was going faster on his smoker.

nosbusa 12-08-2012 05:59 AM

up to 50 i think the 2 strokes are faster

aarons419 12-08-2012 08:04 AM

You get on the powerband on a smoker and they are demons. That's the kind of power that I love in a dirt bike though, so one of these days I'd like to try out one of the KX or CR 500s just for fun.

nosbusa 12-08-2012 03:10 PM

idea..... busa motor on a dirtbike.......

aarons419 12-08-2012 03:40 PM

Put a busa motor in a quad frame and you have a friggin winner. I think it'd be too much for a dirt bike frame.

nosbusa 12-09-2012 04:45 AM

this has got me thinking...... since i will need a fusion on my wrist in the future, and that will prevent me from riding motorcycles, i wonder if maybe i can take th motor out and build my own quad......

aarons419 12-09-2012 09:17 AM

Lots of people have done it. I'm sure someone has done a busa motor in one. Its just a little bit of custom framework.

There's a video of a YZF450 frame with a busa motor in it. Sounds like it's got a turbo too.

nosbusa 12-09-2012 05:54 PM

stop giving me ideas. i am going to get in trouble with the wife

89suburban 12-10-2012 07:31 PM

Damn, I bet that thing could walk on water. :D

aarons419 12-13-2012 07:56 PM

Yeah it looks like an absolute monster. I may see about picking up a quad frame in the future to do a street bike engine in. I bet I could do it for fairly cheap too.

SBA800 12-13-2012 08:29 PM

i wanna build a go kart for an old 440 sled engine i got.
it still ran great when we pulled it out.
would be a beast.

aarons419 12-14-2012 12:27 AM

Oh for sure, especially if you kept it really, really light. do it shifter kart style.

nosbusa 12-14-2012 02:27 AM

i have a kart for sale...... its got a weedeater engine...... hits about 25

aarons419 01-07-2013 09:10 PM

Put a 250 2-stroke engine in there and we'll talk.

nosbusa 01-08-2013 03:56 AM

hell, i just want to sell it for $150. no need to make it a shifter kart. someone else can do that.

aarons419 01-08-2013 09:16 AM

It'd be a fun project, but my wife would kill me.

nosbusa 01-08-2013 10:18 PM

give her oral sex, im sure she will change her mind......
