509 Dirt Pro Goggles
Alright, so up till now, I have been using my 509 Sinister snowmobile goggles while I ride my quad, while this works, its not very ideal as these sinister sled goggles were designed with cold temps in mind. you can only imagine how warm they are in the summer months.
i have been waiting for 509 to have some of their dirt pro goggles in stock, as they were all out of stock. And im damn glad I waited and didnt buy something else. they have just released their 2013 line of dirt pro goggles, these are a ATV/MX specific goggle. designed for summer riding, in dusty, dirty, and muddy hot conditions. lots of venting, but its done in a way to prevent dust from getting in. same system but implemented differently than their sled goggles. which works wonderfully. Here are some pictures of the goggles I ordered. They have tear off posts, hinged straps to ensure a tight fit against the face, and a polorized lens for those bright sunny days. I will also be ordering another set, with a clear lens for cloudy days, and night riding. http://www.509films.com/images/dirtpro-bo-lg.jpg These will fit perfectly in my helmet, as my helmet is the exact same shell 509 uses for their helmets. Also helmet is matte black, and goggles are matte black. perfect! these are the clear ones. lenses are interchangeable, however i find it easier, and more convenient to simply have two pairs. http://www.509films.com/images/dirtpro-mb-lg.jpg Once i recieve these in the mail, and have a chance to test them out, I shall update this thread. |
updated.

good looking set of googles

yeah they are very well built to. have put my sled ones through hell and back. no failures yet.
and these are cheap! $50! far better than more expensive goggles ive tried in stores. |
so i got the dirt pros the other day, finally had a chance to get em opened and threw em on to see how the polarized lens works. absolutely love the lens. makes the sunny and even overcast days so much better for riding. like giant sunglasses lol.
and look damn good from the outside to. cannot see through em from the outside when they're on the helmet. jet black. looks badass. they have tear off posts so if i ever wanna throw some clear tear offs on i have that option. the posts do get in the field of view, but theyre small enough it wont be an issue for me at all. 509 also has a roll film kit, which you can attach and simply roll the strips off, rather than tear them, off. the strap on these is smaller than the sinisters however, which honestly i dont have an issue with. its summer, i have no gloves, or thin gloves on. no problem feeling and adjusting the skinier strap. on the sinisters the thick strap is ncie cause with sledding gloves on things arent grasped as easily. no review on ventilation yet as my quad is still down. they do feel better though just walking around. tighter seal and they seem to not squish my nose so much. due to less foam for warmer weather. pics in next post |
comparison of no lens, and lens.

so i got a little bit of ride time in with these suckers.
so much better than the sinister snow goggles. the less foam and smaller frame really make it so much better for summer riding. fit my face better to and doesnt squish my nose as much. much better. well worth the extra money spent for summer specific goggles. |
They keep you cooler and have a little better ventilation? Just curious. I use a full face helmet so it doesn't really effect me, lol.
|
Yep. They have less foam around them. So it's a lot cooler than the snowmobile goggles. Which makes sense
Since snowmobile goggles gotta be damn warm haha. I could never ride with a modular helmet. Look so weird and just a pain to use IMO. |
Yeah, the one I use is pretty nice, plus it's plumbed for an air pumper and intercom system, so I can still talk to a passenger in the RZR and have fresh air coming in. It's really not bad. I didn't think I would like it either.
