Resurrection

Figured I would post up some pics of our restoration of my brothers TRX350d.

As we bought it:

As you can see it was a bit of a huge mess.

Notice the lack of crucial axle pieces. Nowhere to bolt the wheels!

Here is when we were reconditioning the rear axle. This is where the solid axle bar with the ring gear goes and the pinion goes in the portion to the left.

Awesome , this is going to be a good build

After we got the axles sorted out we started on the engine. We put a new cam in it and discovered the timing chain guide was broken and would slap back and forth but not hurt much other than be really annoying.

Once this was done we had a running driving machine, however it was not much of a looker, so all the cosmetics came off:

History: we did all this stuff to my blue 1988 model before we got this one. It is in the background here as a sign of things to come:

Would you believe this is the same plastic that we began with? Believe it!

Halfway there on cosmetics! Notice the painted wheels, exhaust heat shield, and side cover.

More sanding to get off the camo duct tape and some more metallic orange paint for the rear plastic (We had tons of cans of mopar spray paint this color). The racks we resprayed in gloss black.

Nearing the end of the build we found these floor boards. They were a nice touch. We had trimmed out the rear plastic with the fender flares by then.

They keep your feet from going through if you slip off the peg. Awesome safety feature!

Gotta love how easy these are to work on and how well supported hondas are. Almost every part on these can still be bought brand new.
