My 2006 Polaris Outlaw 500

Well, picked it up today. so stoked for summer now.
since its a used quad, i'm going to do some things right off the bat before riding it to much. Oil change, air filter cleaning, fresh gas with seafoam etc.

short term upgrades will be nerf bars, and new tires.

first pic.

have fun. where do you plan to ride?

SBA800 04-20-2013 12:30 AM

will have tons of fun.

Mostly just going to ride the gravel roads and the ditches. Isnt really trails around here, theres a few gravel pits, but they may be operating this year, so those may be off limits.

nosbusa 04-20-2013 03:16 AM

any sand around?

SBA800 04-20-2013 10:11 AM

theres a few small areas of sand, nothing big. We do have some dunes here, but they are off limits to vehicles.... which is pretty fuckin gay.

might be able to find some larger areas of sand an hour or two away though. Never really looked into the riding areas yet.

nosbusa 04-20-2013 10:38 AM

get some paddles if you go to the sand.

SBA800 04-20-2013 11:03 AM

nah, not that much sand that paddles would be needed I dont think. wouldnt be worth the time it takes to swap tires

nosbusa 04-20-2013 10:50 PM

swap rims instead. its a whole lot faster. thats what im doing. got 3sets showing up next week. just in time for my pismo trip next week.

SBA800 04-21-2013 06:46 PM

still wouldnt be worth the time lol. not that much sand at all.

but, wont be riding it anywhere til lI can get that broken filter cover bolt out and replaced.

nosbusa 04-22-2013 02:33 AM

i hope that works out for you.

SBA800 04-22-2013 08:32 PM

new bolts ordered, local store didnt have the right size in stock.
should be here wed. or thurs.

found my dad extractor bit set. has one that should be small enough, so I shall attempt to get it out provided I can find a drill bit small enough to drill a pilot hole

SBA800 04-27-2013 08:39 PM

pulled all the stickers off that the previous owner put on. looks much better now.

we are so damn lucky we had about a month of slow melt. because if everything we had all melted at once like the past 2 days, we would be in huge trouble lol.

nosbusa 05-01-2013 08:04 AM

should of got a jet ski......

SBA800 05-02-2013 07:19 PM

no kidding. its slowly going down. most of the roads are passable now. So I will be riding this weekend for sure. few roads are pretty much completely washed out though, and theres one bridge thats close to floating away. so it should be interesting.

will ride all over and scout it out this weekend
