Jan 1st ride
had a good little ride on jan 1st.
40 miles in an hour. trail riding the whole time. still some low snow areas so i couldnt go to fast or id start overheating. did hit 96 mph though.
no video this time, was a spur of the moment and had to get home before dinner or id be in big trouble haha.
short quick review of the 2012 polaris SBA.
on trail, this thing is surprisingly well, especially considering its a 144 long track. generally the long track sleds will push in the corners, and not handle as well, not the case here.
gotta say, after riding my brothers 121, then my 144, i love my sled. wouldn't trade it for a short track even if i only ever rode trails.
off trail, thing is unstoppable, even with a 1.352" track. again, wouldnt want any other sled. this is the perfect sled for people who want off trail, and on trail performance.

Sounds like you had a good time. I hope someday I live somewhere that I can own a sled.

ha youd have to go to the mountains, or far north.
when it stormed in november, i thought hell yeah, gonna be a good season.
well, its warm again and the snows melting, yet again. second time its melted lots so far. almost un rideable again.

Yeah I could own one here, but It'd be a two hour drive north to Flagstaff any time I wanted to ride it.

Speaking of riding, that's where I'm about to go in a few minutes. Got some gopro mounts added to my helmet so it should be a good time. Even put one on my daughter's helmet so she can get in on the fun.
She somehow got herself a flat tire last time we were out. Probably crossed paths with a cactus or something.

id like to see you do better
but honestly, yeah i do suck right now on it. barely have more than 100 miles on the thing, and coming from a POS machine made in 1983, its a huge jump, and will take along time to get used to having so much power, and suspension under me.

Yeah this whole riding where plants can puncture your tires takes getting used to.
Got kicked out of our "new" spot yesterday by security at the Chrysler proving grounds. To her credit she was nice about it and at least didn't call the cops or something. Gotta love private property that's not posted as such.
