Default Blown CV Boot (FIX)
Ok guys, here is a fix for an issue I was told about. Apparently if you run the RZR XP's (not sure of other RZR's) really hard, the rear inner cv boots will get so hot they will expand like a balloon and blow. The guy I got the RZR from told me this.

The Fix:
When replacing the boot, take a small hypodermic needle and place it between the boot and the axle. This will vent the heat and keep your boot intact.

Happy Riding

yep. exact same thing on my quad. thats why it blew in the first place.

really is kind of strange they dont have a vent in the rear end to get around this issue.

I thought so too. Guy said he just came up with it, then put tape around it so nobody could see. He didn't want other racers to know his secret.

not poking a hole in it, simply place the needle between the axle, and the rubber, where the clamp goes on.

my only issue is how would that work when its under water....

Exactly, not sure about water. I don't think it would be bad unless you had it submerged for awhile.

Yeah, which for me might happen since I'd probably get stuck lmao

Ah well. I'll get the new boot on this weekend and if it keeps bubbling up after burping it a few times I'll try this trick.

You could do it, then wrap tape around it and cover the end if your gonna cross streams or go mudding.

The only thing is, the tape would probably have to be pretty strong. If it's building high pressure, I'd think it just blow the tape off.
